This is a fun way to kick of a long run of color based works, and to get the students to dive even deeper into the idea of layering color. Yes this idea is central to successful watercolor paintings, but the idea works with a range of media. I mean, they are all familiar with colored pencils, but how do you get them to have more complexity and depth?
