Hi. Thad Smith here. I teach art here at Los Gatos High School. I make things and I ask my students make things.
Making art is fun. It’s part of who we are as humans, and I want to share that joy with you. I know that in life and in art it isn’t about perfection. The process is paramount. Make something. Take stock. Make another something. Repeat. Be thoughtful and work hark and good things will come.
My Mission
to improve the lives around me
to spread optimism
to make my courses fun and relevant
to challenge students to go beyond their own perceived limitations
to be a role model of diligence and integrity
to listen
to foster curiosity
to remain a student
If you want to know about me, here is the abridged version: I grew up in Kansas City, MO; earned my BFA in Studio Art at the University of Central Florida; worked as an assistant and a photographer in New Orleans; now I teach in Los Gatos.
